Wonderful Wyoming

Over the 24th of July weekend, I took the kids to Wyoming for a fun weekend at the Ranch House. I think It has been 2 years since we stayed there! The Ranch House is in Afton, Wyoming, 70 miles south of Jackson.
Cameron found the barn cat and her kittens. He liked the striped one the best.

The "House with the Red Roof" is easy to spot from the road.

Walking down the path

Saturday we drove past Jackson into Teton National Park. The Teton Mountains are amazing! We drove to Signal Mountain Lodge on Jackson Lake and had a great lunch. Easton had Elk Chili and I had a Cobb Salad with Smoked Trout. Yummmm. Then we headed back south to Jenny Lake. It is a beautiful small lake with a shuttle boat that takes you across the lake to a nice hiking trail. We hiked to Hidden Falls then on to Inspiration Point.

Hidden Falls

At Inspiration Point, we discovered some friendly Squirrels. Jackson and Cameron were having them do tricks for bits of Granola bar.

While in the Park we saw Pronghorn Antelope, a Bull Moose and then some Big Horn Sheep. Unfortunately with my little camera, the Pronghorn and Moose pix didn't turn out very clear.

We headed back to the Ranch House and spent some fun times with our cousins the Nosacks. The kids played card, watched movies and we stargazed. WOW! The night sky is amazing there. Sunday we headed home after visiting with Tom's Uncle Vaughn and his family. We wish we could have stayed a whole week. Next time we won't wait 2 years : )

Paige's Little Rock Adventure

This past weekend I was able to fly out to visit Tom in Little Rock. He has a few days off work and was able to show me around. It was hot and humid! But not as bad as I thought. We drove across the Arkansas River. Drove by the President Clinton Library. Saw the classic cars along the Riverwalk and had lots of wings!

This is the Old Mill. It appears in the opening credits of Gone with the Wind. The gardens are so lush and tropical. We saw some turtles swimming in the pond too.

All good things come to and end, sadly. It was a nice break for the both of us to sleep in and lounge by the pool, and just recharge out batteries. Tom heads next to Nashville for the next 6 weeks then home to Utah! What a crazy summer this has been : )
